Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn - Isle of Anglesey County Council

Application of pupils to secondary schools

The closing date for applications of pupils to secondary schools (Year 7) in September 2021 was Friday 18 December, 2020.

Parents can still apply. However, any application received will be treated as a Late Application.
Please refer to the Information for Parents Handbook for further guidance.

Parents will be informed of the outcome by email on 1 March, 2021.

The Local Authority will not be able to discuss the availability of places or the potential outcome of any application.

Applicants should be aware that it is the home address that denotes the secondary school catchment area, rather than which primary school their child attended.

We advise parents to read the ‘Information for Parents’ handbook (see below) below before applying.

This application applies to children born between 01/09/2009 – 31/08/2010 and you wish to apply for one of the following schools only.

  • Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones Amlwch
  • Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi
  • Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni
  • Ysgol David Hughes
  • Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern

For any school outside of the Isle of Anglesey boundary, please contact the School’s Local Authority.

To apply for admission to Canolfan Addysg Y Bont, please contact the Canolfan directly.

Can I visit schools?

All Anglesey secondary schools have decided that they will not hold any open evenings at their schools this year.
