Chatbot - Anglesey council have worked with South Wales tech company We Build Bots to develop Mona.

Mona is constantly being updated to better answer your questions and include answers to new queries. Mona currently offers information on:

  • Contact
  • Council tax
  • Benefits
  • Blue badge
  • Education
  • Leisure centres
  • Libraries
  • Travel information
  • Jobs/careers
  • Housing
  • Newsroom
  • Planning

Mona will be expanded over time and integrated into our systems.

Mona has 2 modes of communication:

  1. Automated responses - These are pre populated responses to common questions and queries.
  2. Webchat – Anglesey council Advisor led chat. This function enables an Advisor to take over the chat in the event that the chatbot is unable to answer your query or you require additional information.

The Chatbot isn’t design to deal with complex or sensitive information. Therefore we advise that you contact the relevant departments to discuss these matters.

Chat history will be stored for 12 months on our hosts platform securely, all data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Chat history is not stored against your name unless you have raised a request on the chatbot and typed in your name and contact details, the request information will be sent to the relevant department alongside your contact details to ensure your request is carried out.

You are able to use the chatbot anonymously, simply don’t type in any identifiable information, such as your name, address, date of birth if not required to do so.

Please bear in mind that the Council will not be able to comply with your data subject rights unless you provide further information that clarifies the time and date of the interaction with the website and the topic discussed. This is because  the chat history is not stored against an individual’s name/record.
