Dementia friendly communities

Project summary

To work closely with various community facilities, businesses, leisure facilities and shops to assess their venue or facility to see how they can make their facility dementia friendly. This will include looking at various signage, any floor stickers, and door mats.

Key partners

Project outputs

  1. To work with a minimum of 70% of businesses and organisations on their buildings.
  2. Community engagement days and sessions.
  3. To install and provide necessary signage to facilities.

Community listening campaign

Project summary

This project will include working with various communities on the island on mapping and identifying the services that are out there for people living with dementia, their carers and family members. This project will also focus on attending community listening campaigns, meeting and discussing issues within the community and identifying what we need to work on.

  3. To assess and gain feedback of the quality of community care available for those people living with dementia.

Raising awareness

Project summary

This project will include working with members of the public, organisation staff, public sector staff, local businesses staff and emergency workers staff to raise awareness of dementia. It will involve delivery of variety of information sessions.
