If you want to use loudspeakers in the street between 9pm and 8am (for instance, for a musical event) you must apply for permission.

In the absence of such consent under Schedule 2 to the Noise and Statutory Nuisance Act 1993, the use of a loudspeaker during the hours of 9pm and 8am will amount to an offence contrary to section 62 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974.

Please submit your application at least 21 days before the event to allow for processing time.
