Anglesey primary school children recently enjoyed two days of orienteering activities organised by the Môn Actif team.
Held at the Carreglwyd Estate in Llanfaethlu, the orienteering festival was an incredible success with hundreds of children given the opportunity to develop their navigational skills whilst working as part of a team.
Anglesey’s Community Sport Development Officer Barry Edwards, said,
“It’s great to see so many children getting involved in these types of activities. We had over 500 children participate - and from the feedback we’ve received from both children and teachers, each and every one of them enjoyed the sessions!”
Môn Actif are busy preparing for the upcoming half-term and have announced that the popular children’s sports camps will return! The all-day sport camps cost just £10, and consist of structured sports activities including; Football, Netball, Rugby, Athletics, and Swimming - there is something to keep every child entertained. Additionally, each child receives a healthy nutritional breakfast.
Leisure Portfolio Holder, Councillor Carwyn Jones added:
“Our Môn Actif Leisure Team is working hard to provide a range of physical activities for children and young people. The orienteering sessions have proved to be a great success, and we are very pleased that the children enjoyed them so much.”
