Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn - Isle of Anglesey County Council

Important information for food businesses

Posted on 1 May 2020

As the lockdown continues, some eligible food businesses are re-opening and others diversifying to provide take away and delivery services.

The Public Protection team at Anglesey County Council are reminding businesses that there are a number of issues to carefully consider before opening.

Key points to consider:

  • You must ensure you have provisions for social distancing for customers and ensure customers comply/respect the measures
  • As businesses have been closed for a number of weeks, it is important that before opening you check all stock use-by and best before dates and ensure during closure that there has been no pest activity
  • If you are starting to offer take away or delivery service for the first time, it is important that you have a system of identifying allergens and allergen free meals and that the information provided is accurate
  • During this time you may receive alternative ingredients or not be using your usual supplier and it is therefore really important to check that the information you have in relation to allergens is correct
