Senedd Elections 6 May 2021


Senedd Elections are held every 5 years. The next Senedd Election will be held on the 6 May 2021.

1 Senedd Member is elected  to represent the Constituency of Ynys Môn. 4 Regional Members (MSs) are elected to represent North Wales as a whole.

The MSs divide their time between work at the Senedd in Cardiff and local work in the area they represent.

The deadline to register to vote:  Monday, 19 April 2021.

Who can vote

To vote in the Senedd election you must be:

  • registered to vote
  • 16 years of age or over on polling day
  • a British citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of the European Union, or a qualifying foreign citizen
  • resident in Wales, and
  • not be subject to any legal incapacity to vote
