Holiday accommodation housing key workers

The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020 as amended, has brought in the general requirement for accommodation businesses to close.  These businesses include:

  • Holiday sites
  • Camping sites
  • Hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation
  • Other holiday accommodation (including holiday lets and apartments, hostels and boarding houses

Holiday accommodation businesses can open however, for any purpose specifically requested by the Welsh Ministers or Local Authorities.  These purposes could include providing accommodation for key workers, those who have been displaced or are homeless, or providing accommodation for health patients.

If you are providing accommodation on Anglesey for any of these groups, then you MUST request an exemption from the Council.  You will need to complete the request form and provide evidence as to the person’s status.  This might include a Key Worker letter from their employer, a copy of their photo ID, a letter from the NHS asking you to provide accommodation etc.

Details of what constitutes a key worker can be found at: https://gov.wales/coronavirus-key-critical-workers
