Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn - Isle of Anglesey County Council

Education, training, apprenticeships and skills

A range of job opportunities are now starting to flow through for local people in respect of Energy Island™-related developments, with significant work opportunities expected over the coming years as several developments move forward into their construction and operational phases.

Getting the right skillsets to take advantage of these upcoming opportunities will be key to maximising the benefits which Energy Island will bring.

Construction skills will be essential for the Energy Island™-related developments, as will be infrastructure-building, engineering and project management work.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) skills are likely to be in demand during both construction and operational phases of the projects.

Other skills will also be needed – from landscape architects to laundry workers, from facilities managers to floor layers, from caterers to decorators – skills at all levels are likely to be needed in a diverse range of STEM and non-STEM jobs.

Whether you are an individual or a business, now is a good time to start thinking about your skills and about any training or upskilling you will need to make the most of current and upcoming Energy Island™- related opportunities.
