Closed to new applications.
Following the First Minister’s announcement on 29 January regarding the ongoing restrictions the Restrictions Business Fund has been extended to cover the period of February and March.
Businesses on the Non Domestic Rates list who received the NDR Restrictions Grant for December and January will be automatically paid the additional grant over the coming week.
Businesses who applied for the Discretionary Restrictions Grant cannot be automatically paid irrelevant of their business sector and will need to complete a new application.
We envisage these applications will open at the end of the week commencing 8th February 2021. There will be a new application form to complete.
A new portal will be set up for those who need to apply and we envisage this will be live by the end of the week.
The Welsh Government has announced a package of financial business support linked to the Christmas period restrictions to support businesses that have been directly impacted by the additional restrictions put in place.
The purpose of the grant is to provide businesses with cash flow support and to help them survive the economic consequences of the restrictions introduced.
The grant seeks to complement other Covid-19 response measures to support businesses, social enterprises and charitable organisations in Wales. The Christmas Restrictions grant scheme managed by the Council covers both December and January.
The fund managed by Isle of Anglesey County Council on behalf of the Welsh Government consists of two separate grants:
Businesses cannot apply for both the NDR grant and the Discretionary Grant - check the eligibility criteria and guidance for both to see which one you could apply for.
For the Non Domestic Rates Restrictions (NDR) Grant Scheme we expect that most of the eligible businesses who are registered for business rates and successfully made an application for the Autumn Grant will have been paid ‘automatically’ by now, without the need for an application so do not need to do anything further.
The scheme criteria and application guidance for any NDR businesses not falling in the ‘automatic payment’ is accessible below.
Any business occupying a NDR property that did not submit an application for the Autumn Grant but has now been forced to close can make an application for a grant as can businesses that have not been forced to close but that have suffered a 40% or more drop in turnover.
Businesses who have already received an NDR Christmas Restrictions Business Grant (mainly pubs, restaurants, hotels and self catering accommodation) should not expect to receive any further grant aid from the Council for the December/January restrictions.
If the restrictions continue after this, further assistance may be announced by the Welsh Government and the details will be provided on this website.
Some businesses may be eligible for the latest ERF Sector Specific grant scheme which is directly managed by the Welsh Government and is accessible from the Business Wales website from 13 January.
These schemes may change if there is an updated Welsh Government Covid response policy.
Please note that the grant may count as taxable income. The Council may share grant awards data with HMRC and other statutory bodies for fraud prevention purposes, and additional future verification checks may be carried out.
