The Welsh Government announced on 26 March 2020 an enhanced scheme of support for businesses affected by the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Retail, leisure and hospitality businesses who are occupying a property with a rateable value of £500,000, or less on 1 April 2020, will receive 100% business rate relief for the rate year 2020/2021.
On 3 March 2021, the Minister for Finance and Trefnydd announced the extension of the relief on a temporary basis for 2021/2022. If you were eligible for rates relief in the previous rate year you do not need to take any further action.
Isle of Anglesey County Council will award the relief automatically. We shall also, for the businesses who meet the eligibility criteria, not be calling direct debit payments.
Please note it is essential that the details of the person responsible for the premises’ business rates is kept up to date.
If the occupier has changed you must contact the council via the below email at the earliest opportunity.
