Anglesey Three Towns Regeneration Programme

The project is part of a North Wales wide plan to regenerate some of the main towns in the region.

What is it?

The Anglesey Three Towns Programme is an element which is targeting the towns of Holyhead, Llangefni and Amlwch. It aims to improve some poor and underused buildings as well as enhancing the streetscape in an attempt to attract more shoppers and increase footfall into these town centres.

Who pays for it?

The programme is made up of European Union Convergence,Welsh Government, Anglesey County
Council and Heritage Lottery Funding, which totals about £8.7 million.The project started in 2010 and will continue through to July 2014, in which the various individual projects under the overall programme will be complete.

Who runs it?

The Welsh Government oversees the North Wales Towns Physical Regeneration Project which extends
across four counties.The Anglesey Three Towns Programme is managed by Anglesey County Council.

Other Regeneration Schemes?

The Three Towns Programme fits into wider on going regeneration efforts in Holyhead, Llangefni and Amlwch
which include various stakeholders and funding sources.
