Household waste collection on Anglesey
The Council operates a household waste and recycling collection service throughout the island.
It consists of a domestic waste and recycling service serving approximately 34,000 properties. All households on Anglesey are entitled to a 240 litre black wheeled bin, a 55 litre blue recycling box, a 55 litre orange box, a 40 litre red recycling box, a 23 litre brown mini food waste bin with a 7 litre brown kitchen caddy and a 240 litre green wheeled bin.
From October 2016 onwards, the black bin will be collected on the same day every 3 weeks and the green bin will be collected on the same day every fortnight. The blue, orange and red recycling boxes along with the brown mini food waste bin will be collected on the same day on a weekly basis.
The Waste Management Section can arrange an ‘assisted collection’ service for disabled residents or those who are having difficulty wheeling their bins to the collection point. There is also a nappy collection service available for households with children in nappies under the age of 3 who permanently resides at the household.
To ensure your waste and recycling is collected, please place your bins and boxes out by 7am on your collection day.

Bulky waste is large items of waste such as cookers, fridge / freezers, beds, mattresses, sofas, bikes, wardrobes etc.
All households on Anglesey now receive a food waste collection on a weekly basis. This food waste along with the green garden waste is processed and turned into a rich soil enhancer.
Assisted collections will be restricted to those households who are in genuine need following an application process to the Council.
We provide a nappy collection service to households with children in nappies.
Anglesey has two household waste recycling centres, or rubbish tips, which can be used by residents for a wide range of household waste and recycling.
As you are aware, Anglesey has recently encountered very high winds and occasionally, these high winds can cause problems on recycling and waste collection days.
