Council Services:

Developing on contaminated land

The Isle of Anglesey County Council has a legal duty to ensure that any land that is to be developed is fit for its intended use, and will not pose any risk to the future users of the site.

It is therefore in the applicants best interest to submit, if required, detailed information on whether a site poses any risks with regard to potential land contamination. The council has specific requirements, normally detailed as part of the conditions of a planning application to deal with contaminated land.

Further information and advice for developers is given in the attached document.
