Conservation Area Character Appraisal - Aberffraw

Date Designated

Aberffraw was designated as a Conservation Area in November, 1978.

Reason Designated

Aberffraw is rich in history. Its setting,architectural style, and open spaces contribute to its character. Therefore, in view of its long history and historic built environment it is considered that the village’s character is worthy of protection and enhancement.


Aberffraw is situated on the southwest coast of the Isle of Anglesey at the head of the River Ffraw estuary. (Grid Ref.: 354689). (See page 11)
