Our team is dedicated to developing sports on Anglesey as well as our staff members who help in other aspects of the department.

Grants and funding
There’s a variety of funding available for sports clubs and athletes. We can help with the Community Chest, Talented Athlete and North Wales Gold Card grants.

Coach education
Coaches are a crucial part to sport on Anglesey and in Wales; they play a vital part in ensuring that people are attracted to sport, enjoy sport and remain lifelong participants.

5 x 60
The aim of the 5 x 60 scheme is to encourage young people to get active and enjoy it. A range of exciting activities are available throughout all the secondary schools on the island.
Dragon Sports
Dragon Sports is for primary school children on Anglesey. Dragon Sports aims to create an initial interest in sports as well as developing co-ordination and movement skills amongst young children.
Mentro Allan
The Mentro Allan Project is aimed at young women from the ages of 16 to 30, giving opportunities to participate in outdoor activities in your area for free.
Stepping Out
There are almost 120 walking opportunities each month across Anglesey. Many led by volunteers who have been trained in the Walking Leaders award.
Volunteering
A key role of the Sports Council for Wales is to increase the numbers of volunteers as the voluntary sector plays a crucial role in the delivery of sport in Wales.

Our Disability Sport Wales Development Officer develops community based sporting and recreational opportunities for disabled people throughout Anglesey.
