Canolfan Asesu Anterth – City and Guilds Accredited Centre
Canolfan Asesu Anterth is an accredited QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) City and Guilds Assessment Centre, co-ordinated and managed from the Workforce Development Unit. Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy and Denbighshire Councils are partner members.
The Centre successfully delivers Unit and Award Accreditation in Dementia Care and also in Learning Disability.
The qualifications and training delivered at the Centre are a key part of ensuring that the social care workforce in Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy and Denbighshire is appropriately skilled and qualified to deliver quality services to users. With a variety of learning programmes ranging from person-centred front-line services to leadership and management, staff working in these difficult and demanding roles are properly equipped, supported, supervised and managed.
The Centre progresses from strength to strength, demonstrating excellence and collaborative working with its partners. It was recently recognised by the Care Council for Wales as a model of good practice, and is a ‘centre of excellence’. The Centre continues to retain an ‘A’ grading from the City and Guilds for the high standards of assessment, management of the centre and the quality of the work produced by the candidates. The Centre is also recognised for its high standard of teaching and training which was confirmed in the achievement of the 2011-12 Medal of Excellence.
Care Council, March 2013 - “Thanks again for letting me join in and restore my faith that there really is some excellent assessing practice and commitments to on-going learning and development for teaching and learning staff out there.”
Canolfan Anterth continues to make steady progress meeting and exceeding internal and external targets, and continues to support the voluntary and independent sector via the in-house assessment centre.
