Fridge and freezer collection

EU legislation requires CFC’s (Chlorofluorocarbons – gases that damage the Earth’s ozone layer) to be safely removed from fridges and freezers before they can be scrapped or recycled.

Homeowners have had to dispose of their old fridges and freezers carefully as new laws have been introduced to protect the environment.

The Isle of Anglesey County Council provides a free of charge service for the collection of fridges and freezers from all domestic sources. If you have a fridge or a freezer that is no longer needed contact the Waste Management Section. Follow the 'see also' link at the bottom of the page for our contact details.
