Council Services:

The Register of Electors

The Register of Electors is a list of the people who are registered to vote. To be able to vote in local and national elections you will need to be on the Register of Electors.

The Electoral Services Office carries out an annual canvass of the residents of Isle of Anglesey County Council. If you miss the canvass don’t worry as you can register to vote at any time throughout the year.

All members of the household that are eligible to vote have to register individually and this can be done on-line on If you require a paper copy, please contact the office on or 01248 752 548. For more information on how to register to vote please see the “How to Register to Vote” page.

Do not assume that you are registered to vote because you pay council tax at your home, or that you have told council tax that you have moved

There are two versions of the Register of Electors, the electoral register (formally known as the full register) and the open register (formally known as the edited register).

On the 10 June 2014 there was a national change to how people could add themselves to the Register of Electors.  Everyone now has to register individually, and more information about the changes can be found on the “Individual Electoral Registration” page.
