Summary of Service roles

Housing Services

The Service is committed to provide comprehensive services which are cost effective and responsive to the needs of both tenants and owner occupiers.

The Housing Services are responsible for numerous services including:

  • managing the council’s housing revenue account
  • council housing
  • allocations / homelessness
  • estate management
  • rent collection/arrears
  • financial / debt management
  • community care liaison
  • tenant participation
  • Low Cost Home Ownership Scheme
  • Warden Service
  • statutory duties including homelessness, housing benefit, housing renovation grants, strategies, policy development, renewal areas and group repair schemes
  • Supporting People
  • J.E.O’Toole Centre - provide training opportunities for the Youth of Anglesey through Môn Training and development opportunities for the unemployed through J.E.O’Toole

The Service works closely with Social Services in order to provide housing for people who have special needs such as:

  • women seeking refuge from domestic violence
  • people with learning disabilities
  • people with mental health problems
  • people suffering from alcohol and other drug dependency
  • people with a physical disability who require support
  • young single homeless people requiring support and young persons leaving care
  • ex-offenders
  • single homeless persons
