Economic and Community Regeneration

The Economic and Community Regeneration Service consists of the Economic, Leisure and Maritime functions.

The vision of the service is to create a better island to live, work and visit by delivering activities to develop Anglesey’s economy, regenerate its communities and transform current leisure provision.

Roles and responsibilities:

Economic Function

The service aims to:

  • Support and encourage entrepreneurship, business and employment growth
  • Provide information and advice on European matters including EU policies, rules and grants
  • Develop and promote the Island’s tourism offer
  • Improve quality of life and reduce socio-economic inequalities
  • Ensure local people, communities and businesses can capitalise upon all future major development  opportunities
  • Position Anglesey at the forefront of energy research & Development and the production of low carbon and renewable energy for the benefit of current and future generations

Maritime Function

  • Seashore and seaside pleasure boats byelaws
  • Holyhead Fish Dock
  • Amlwch Harbour
  • Menai Bridge Pier
  • Beaumaris Pier
  • Mooring
  • Navigation lamps
  • Boat storage areas and slipways
  • Personal watercraft and powerboat registration
  • On-shore and off-shore beach safety including provision of a seasonal beach warden service.
  • Foreshore maintenance
