Public Engagement – Review of the post-16 provision
On 15 October 2018, the Council’s Executive agreed to adopt the updated Education Strategy – School Modernisation.
The revised schools’ modernisation strategy will ensure children and young people flourish, allow headteachers and teachers to succeed, continue to raise standards and create fit for purpose school buildings.
Education budgets face a £5m cut over the next three years – the updated strategy will continue to focus on reducing surplus places and making the best use of funding currently provided by Welsh Government through its 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.
This is an initial engagement with all concerned, which means an opportunity for all involved to comment on the proposed options and put forward any other options for consideration.
During this engagement period 16 November 2018 to 16 December 2018, the Council wants your views on options in the engagement document. If you wish to propose alternative options, the Council will be happy to consider them.

The engagement document is now available below and there will be paper copies available at the drop-in sessions.
Informal drop-in sessions will be held, where there will be an opportunity to discuss the options with officers and elected members in detail. We would encourage all concerned to attend these events.

At the end of this process (16/12/2018), officers will consider all the responses and present a report with recommendation(s) to the Executive early in 2019. The Executive will then decide on the way forward.
