Consultation on Rights of Way Improvement Plan 2018 – 2028

Anglesey’s first RoWIP was published in 2008, resulting from the requirements of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The 1st RoWIP has been in place for almost 10 years, and will soon reach the end of its 10 year time-frame. Consequently, the Council has drafted a 2nd RoWIP for 2018 - 2028. This plan is the means by which Isle of Anglesey County Council identifies, prioritises and plans for improvements to the access available in the County.

Initial consultation on the 2nd RoWIP was undertaken in spring 2017. During this consultation, a diverse range of feedback was received from members of the public and various interested parties and organisations. This feedback has proved invaluable and has contributed in shaping aims and objectives of the 2nd RoWIP.

From to the Council is undertaking a statutory 12-week consultation on the new draft RoWIP. The draft plan and associated documents can be downloaded from the links at the bottom of this page.

Feedback can be submitted:

  • by email to
  • by post, addressed to: Public Rights of Way Officer, Highways Department, Isle of Anglesey County Council, Council Offices, Llangefni, Anglesey, LL77 7TW

Please note that this consultation period ends on 10 August, 2018.

Feedback received will be analysed before further amendments are made to the Plan. The Council will then seek Executive Committee approval for the plan and aim to publish it by Autumn 2018.

Thank you for your taking the time to respond.
