Tracing your family tree
Please note: Tracing your family tree in Anglesey is a difficult task as Anglesey was divided into eight districts for births and deaths each with its own index which the staff must inspect manually. There were 82 parish churches in Anglesey each with its own index plus indices for chapels and register offices and requires extensive searching. Please note: pre 1872, some births were not registered.
For further information on the local history of Anglesey, census returns and pre 1837 sources please contact the Anglesey County Archives Service.
Indexes to Anglesey marriages 1837-1937 are available on CD in the larger libraries and the Archives Services and indexes to some births are available in the Archives.
Non Anglesey certificates and copy certificates can be ordered online from the General Registry Office, using a debit or credit card.
