Council Services:

Licences

The council is responsible for the issue and regulation of a number of different types of licence.

The Licensing Team is part of our Trading Standards Service, which administers and enforces the licensing of various activities, including:

  • public entertainment, music and dancing
  • private hire and hackney carriage vehicles and drivers
  • poisons and petroleum
  • lotteries
  • street collections

We also give advice to business and residents of Anglesey with regard to licensing matters, carry out visits and inspections to licensed premises and undertake enforcement against unlicensed activities or those in breach of licence conditions.

The EU Services Directive aims to break down barriers to cross border trade in services between countries in the EU.

It makes it easier for service providers, particularly small and medium sized enterprises, to offer their services to customers in other EU countries, whether establishing elsewhere in the EU or providing services remotely from the UK.

For further information please see the “Service Directive, Doing Business Made Easier”, leaflet.and the link to the website of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills - European Services Directive.
