Tendering opportunities
Gaining access to European Funding doesn’t always involve leading on a project or acting as a joint sponsor. Organisations in wales can benefit from European funding by bidding to deliver project activities of European Union funded projects through competitive tendering.
At the end of June 2010, over 70% of approved projects were procuring the delivery of project activity.
To date, approved projects with completed procurement exercises have awarded delivery contracts worth nearly £165 million to around 490 organisations, including some 400 private sector organisations. All tender notices for EU Funded projects are uploaded onto the Sell2Wales website. As such, the old adage “you have to be in it to win it” is very true when it comes to taking advantage of these opportunities, and all local organisations and businesses are urged to sign-up to this website and register their details.
To view all notices on EU-funded projects including early notices, invitations to workshops and other useful information, please follow this instruction on the Sell2Wales search facility: www.sell2wales.co.uk
The Local Supplier Development Service is also available to assist local businesses and voluntary groups specifically to tender effectively. This service which is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government is delivered by Menter a Busnes in North West Wales. They can assist with filling in tender forms and pre-qualification questionnaires; raise awareness through holding a number of events including How To Tender Workshops, Meet the Buyer and Networking events.
