New Nuclear Build at Wylfa: Supplementary Planning Guidance

The New Nuclear Build (NNB) SPG at Wylfa, along with other major developments proposed on Anglesey, present a once in a lifetime opportunity to transform the economy and communities of the island.

The New Nuclear Build at Wylfa Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG), which was adopted by the Council in July 2014 sets out the County Council’s vision and objectives for the New Nuclear Build and is an important material consideration in assessing other planning applications linked to the project.

The New Nuclear Build at Wylfa SPG document will help the County Council to:

  • make robust decisions on all enabling works and associated development planning applications
  • ensure that the potential impacts of the New Nuclear Build and its associated developments are identified and mitigated where possible
  • ensure that the socio-economic benefits linked with the construction and operation of the power station are fully realised.

Please see the ‘Downloads’ tab to view our New Nuclear Build at Wylfa Supplementary Planning Guidance and the ten topic papers that support the SPG.
