Day 5: Thinking of buying a puppy for Christmas?

….then please consider purchasing a puppy from a licensed breeder.

As from 30 April 2015, new licensing requirements for dog owners who breed dogs in Wales are in force.

This Authority encourages those responsible for animals to meet their duty of care.

It is good practice not to breed dogs for sale specifically at Christmas.

Every year hundreds of dogs are abandoned after Christmas as many people do not consider the responsibilities involved when buying a dog such as the cost of feeding and taking care of a dog and the time involved in exercising and looking after the dog.

If you require any further information on Licensed Dog Breeding, please contact Environmental Health, Isle of Anglesey County Council, Council Offices, Llangefni, Anglesey LL77 7TW
